Kona Bay Maine Resources provides bivalve seed to customers around the world using your own broodstock. Our technology allow us to produce seed using bivalve broodstock from different commercial species. We spawn the broodstock provided by our customers and produce their particular species with all the advantages form Kona Bay products: any size, disease free, year round availability and because we choose our seed for its health and heartiness, we only provide the top 25% fast growers.

Our proprietary hatchery and nursery facilities and highly trained staff have been spawning different bivalve species in our state of the art bio-secure facilities, we have produced Pinctada margaritifera, Crassostrea virginica, Mercenaria mercenaria, Crassostrea gigas and we are currently working on the production of Crassostrea corteziensis and Atrina maura.

Kona Bay bivalve seed is continuously fed with a 100% cultured algae. Our land-base systems use super clean, deep ocean water and are guaranteed to be disease-free. We cull 75% of the produced seed keeping only the top, faster growing seed. As a result, all of Kona Bay seed – regardless of size – are fast-growers. Providing farmers with lower production costs and higher yields.

Kona Bay will make all shipping arrangements and prepare necessary documentation for customs. We can arrange shipments to even the most remote destinations. Our shipping specialists have contracted for some of the lowest shipping rates available.
